The GRAND STRAND CHAPTER is proud to support the Myrtle Beach Community in a number of different ways.  Some of the initiatives we are involved in are:

The Reserve Officers Training Corps program at Coastal is one of the many activities in which Grand Strand Chapter members participate.

Traditionally the president of the Grand Strand Chapter, presents Gold Bars to the new Army officers from the ROTC program at CCU at the annual April recognition dinner. Those officers will receive the first year’s membership in the chapter free.

 Myrtle Beach Honors Veterans

Mark Kruea, MB Public Information Director (Honorary GS MOAA member), and Chairman of the MB Military Appreciation Committee, served as the MC at the annual Veterans Day ceremony at the Convention Center, on November 11, 2017.   Roger Pilcher, USMC, LTC (retired), Past  Chapter President, and Military Appreciation Committee member, presented the Welcoming remarks on behalf of the Committee.

In recognition of LTC Pilcher’s numerous contributions to the Committee and to this annual event, Mr. Kruea presented LTC Pilcher with a Myrtle Beach City coin.  President Townsend and other Grand Strand MOAA members attended the ceremony.
