Again this year our chapter, over 100
strong, received the MOAA’s national
“5 Star” Level of Excellence award.
This was our
second attempt in the very
intense competition and AGAIN we went
to the top level!
We cannot say enough
for all that helped put us there.
Roger Pilcher, Bob Hawkins, Joan Perry, Peggy DeVivo,
Bill Walsh, Hans Duerr, Ross Word,
Bill Stewart, Jimmy Jacobs.
The Chapter held it’s
second Patriot’s Day Golf Outing on
September 10, 2013, at the Pine Lakes Country Club. Pine
Lakes is affectionately know as the “Grand Daddy” due to the
fact it is the oldest golf course in Myrtle Beach dating
back to 1927.
Roger Pilcher, president of the Grand Strand Chapter,
will be presenting Gold Bars to the new Army officers from the
ROTC program at CCU at the graduation exercises in
December. Those officers will receive the first year’s membership in national MOAA and the chapter.
The Reserve Officers Training Corps program at Coastal is one of the many activities in which Grand Strand Chapter members participate.
